The premise of ‘Offentliga Fastigheter’, a 3-part commercial series produced for SKR/SALAR and is based on the question: what if the the buildings that house schools, hospitals and prisons didn’t exist? This production forms part to inspire and recruit people to work with public properties (such as schools, hospitals, prisons).

ABOUT OFFENTLIGA FASTIGHETER/PUBLIC PROPERTIES

Public properties is a co-operation fund between Sweden’s Municipalities and Regions and three state property managers. Public properties shall function as a forum for the exchange of experience and drive the development of common issues within the property management area.

ABOUT SKR/SALAR

The Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions (SALAR) is an employers’ organisation and an organisation that represents and advocates local government in Sweden. All of Sweden’s municipalities and regions are members of SALAR.

Echo and Narcissus

ECHO AND NARCISSUS

From the myth of Echo and Narcissus, which first outlined the concept of media, to the digital 21st century. Undertaking the roles of composer and librettist and inspired by these two mythological figures, live coding presents a digital opera addressing contemporary themes.

Ovid’s tale of Narcissus, who is transfixed by his own reflection, and Echo, who is condemned to wander disembodied through eternity, is staged by Medea Electronique using live coding and code poetry: the code is written in real time and generates the opera’s sound as well as its libretto. Transcribing the properties of opera into its digital equivalents, the libretto is sung by live performers.
